New School Delay
July 17, 2009
Dear Parents/Carers
Re: New Build Update
We have recently had a meeting with representatives from Wiltshire Council. At this meeting we were informed that with the current economic climate and the likely-hood of a forthcoming election, the earliest date for the opening of the new school will now be delayed to 2013.
Needless to say both sets of governing bodies are discontented and dissatisfied with the pending delay. We strongly feel that the children of Marlborough deserve a new state-of-the-art primary school sooner rather than later and we are writing to you today, to ask for your support.
We would urge you to write to your local councillor and to sign the petition that will be circulating around the town. You could attend the Public Consultation Meeting taking place on Wednesday 22nd July at St Peter’s Junior School between 3.30pm – 5.30pm where you could meet the representatives from Wiltshire. The future education of all our children is relying on you.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
